OOIDA: Can under-21 truck drivers get insurance?...
Drivers under the age of 21 can drive intrastate under laws in most states, where presumably they are covered by insurance.
The FMCSA’s proposed Apprenticeship Pilot Program (APP) calls for the apprentices — who must have a CDL — to perform two probationary periods. One is for 120 hours of on-duty time, including 80 in a truck, and must be completed with a veteran truck driver riding along as a passenger. The second is 280 hours, including at least 160 in a truck, and no accompanying driver is needed.

Survey: 18% of Drivers Say Trucking Industry is Unsafe for Women...
When asked if the North American trucking industry is a safe industry in which women drivers can work, the respondents were split.
More than half of respondents — 53% — strongly agreed or agreed it was safe for women to work in. However, another 18% disagreed or strongly disagreed. Approximately 29% were neutral in their perception on this matter.

Expect "very lengthy" delays on Oklahoma interstate through July 2022...
Oklahoma transportation officials are warning drivers that a construction project will cause traffic backups and delays on I-35 now through summer 2022.
Starting on Monday, January 17, I-35 will be down to just one lane in each direction between Thackerville and Marietta in Love County for a bridge construction project.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) says that the lane closures will remain in place until early July 2022.

USPS Site Begins Taking COVID Test Requests...
The website, COVIDTests.gov, now includes a link for Americans to access an order form run by the U.S. Postal Service. People can order four at-home tests per residential address, to be delivered by the Postal Service. It marks the latest step by President Joe Biden to address criticism of low inventory and long lines for testing during a nationwide surge in COVID-19 cases due to the omicron variant.
